Why the remote can control other devices?

The code used by AURALiC's RC-1 remote control is Philips RC-5 IR code which is widely used by all kind of home electronics.

Since the RC-1 remote control is designed to control other AURALiC devices such as the VEGA digital audio process and the TAURUS PRE audio pre-amplifier, it may also share the same code for other manufacturer's remote code map.
