Is there any sound quality difference between USB, NAS and internal storage?

A NAS drive has the potential to sound better than a USB drive connected to the Aries because it can be electrically disconnected from the Aries if running wirelessly.

Also, the bus powered USB drive draws current from Lightning device which can result in slight degradation in sound quality.  

The internal storage will also draws current fromLightning device, however, as the driver is connected to system using SATA connection, it contributes much less system load when using it compare to NAS or USB work mode. So the sound quality of using internal storage should be equally same or superior to using NAS drive.
