AURALiC Support Overview
Upon selecting an AURALiC product, understanding the control requirements for AURALiC’s proprietary software, Lightning DS, is essential. Developed by AURALiC since 2014, Lightning DS boasts reliability and user-friendliness owing to consistent team focus on its refinement. Notably, Lightning DS exclusively integrates with Apple’s iOS infrastructure, a deliberate choice for its stability and widespread availability, crucial for seamless network-based music streaming.
Non-iOS Device Compatibility
It's important to note that the iOS exclusivity only applies to AURALiC’s Lightning DS control software.
Given AURALiC streamers adhere to the OpenHome UPnP standard, control is possible through applications on various operating systems such as Android, Mac OSX, and Windows. Examples include BubbleUPnP and Linn Kazoo.
Furthermore, the streamer can interface with virtual input channels beyond OpenHome, such as RoonReady and TIDAL Connect, utilizing third-party app software and interfaces, which may be accessible on non-iOS platforms.
Device setup and configuration are universally accessible, facilitated through any web browser on systems like PC or Mac, including Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.
It's essential to recognize that while these options broaden compatibility, AURALiC does not provide support for them. For any issues relating to future functionality, the respective third-party developers are the primary points of contact for support, not AURALiC.
