Some people may experience difficulty streaming from TIDAL once their streaming device has been upgraded to firmware v5.3. This is related to new functionality in v5.3 that allows users to manually select streaming quality, and affects users who subscribe to TIDAL's "Premium" level service (as opposed to TIDAL's "HiFi" level service.)
To resolve the issue using the Lightning Web Interface:
- Enter the IP address of your streaming device in the address bar of any browser
- Select 'Streamer Setup'
- In the 'Streaming Quality' section, click the drop-down menu for TIDAL and select one of the MP3 options.
To resolve the issue for firmware versions 5.3 and above using Lightning DS:
- Navigate to the Settings Menu (swipe left to the root menu, and the settings icon is visible in the lower left.)
- Select Lightning Device > [your device] > Additional Operations
- Select 'Streamer Setup' in the popup Lightning Web Interface
- In the 'Streaming Quality' section, click the drop-down menu for TIDAL and select one of the MP3 options.
